untitled

Many years ago, a friend from Scotland told me that the word -  WEESKELF - meant LITTLE ONE. As the Shetland Sheepdog comes from the Scottish Isles, I felt that this was the perfect name for my kennel as we all know the Sheltie is the sort of smaller version of the Collie -or the little one!

Weeskelf is a Perm. Registered kennel name with the CKC and has been since 1986. I left breeding of Shelties ten years ago to concentrate on my Miniature Pinschers and now I have returned to my first love - the Shetland Sheepdog!

You will find the WEESKELF prefix on Shelties, Miniature Pinschers and German Shepherds  for which there are Canadian, Bermuda, & American Champions, BIS, BISS, BPIS, Agility and Obedience titles as well.

Welcome to my Website!

WEESKELF shelties started in 1981 with SOVEREIGN FOREVER DIAMONDS, a sable sheltie bitch that was shown in conformation to 5 points. All of them were earned out of coat. Imagine what she would have done 'in coat'? 'Miss C' disliked the dog show scene because she had to be on a lead. She was always an obedient dog and saw no reason for the lead other than she was being punished for something and this caused her to go around a ring with her head down. If she could have been shown without a lead, she would have been perfectly happy to walk around the ring and strut her stuff!!!!!! So she became the family pet and couch potato.

Many shelties followed in Miss C's footsteps, but the latest additions are DURY VOE GOODNESS GRACIOUS, a tri-colored, bi-factored, possibly white-factored bitch that is co-owned with Judy Kelsey.

My newest addition is GOLDEN HYLITE'S RIHANNA,  a sable bitch, that will be in the show ring as soon as she grows back her coat.
